I\u2019ve tried a lot over the years &#8211; some were gamechangers, others\u2026 not so much.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s so much noise in the biohacking world right now that it can feel like you need a $10,000 setup just to have decent energy or sleep through the night. Spoiler alert: you don\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some biohacking products (and trends) that I think are totally overrated &#8211; and what to do instead for real, sustainable results.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessista.com\/?attachment_id=189641\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-189641 follow noopener noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-189641\" src=\"http:\/\/bestratefinders.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/biohacking-habits-that-I-think-are-overrated-767x1024-1.jpg\" data-fslightbox=\"gallery1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(worth mentioning here that <a href=\"https:\/\/thelumebox.com\/pages\/lb68\/?_ef_transaction_id=&amp;oid=3&amp;affid=4001&amp;discount=fitnessista\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">my fave Lumebox<\/a> and castor oil pack are not overrated)<\/p>\n<h2>Biohacking habits that I think are overrated<\/h2>\n<h3>1. Taking a Million Supplements &#8220;Just Because\u201d<\/h3>\n<p>If you\u2019ve ever looked at someone\u2019s supplement shelf and thought, \u201cShould I be taking more??\u201d &#8211; \u00a0you\u2019re not alone. But loading up on random pills without a clear reason can burden your liver, drain your wallet, and possibly make symptoms worse.<\/p>\n<p>Many of us are taking things our bodies don\u2019t even need &#8211; or can\u2019t absorb properly &#8211; because we saw someone on TikTok recommend it.<\/p>\n<p>Try this instead:<\/p>\n<p>Get functional testing done first. This could include minerals, gut health, inflammation, hormones, and food sensitivities. I do this with my 1:1 clients, and it changes everything. While they can have some benefits (like reduced inflammation and increased resilience), <strong>they\u2019re not a fit for everyone, <\/strong>especially women dealing with hormonal imbalances, adrenal fatigue, or autoimmune flares.<\/p>\n<p>If your nervous system is already running on overdrive, jumping into a tub of freezing water might just stress it out even more.<\/p>\n<p>Try this instead:<\/p>\n<p>Start slow. Try a short cold shower at the end of your warm shower, or finish with a splash of cold water on your face. Focus on nervous system regulation first &#8211; think breathwork, gentle movement, and prioritizing sleep. Then, if your body feels ready, gradually introduce cold exposure. Also heat exposure,<a href=\"https:\/\/tidd.ly\/4cUrAZs\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"> like my beloved sauna blanket<\/a>, can be a much better fit!! I WAY prefer heat over cold.<\/p>\n<h3>3. Super Pricey PEMF Devices with Wild Claims<\/h3>\n<p>I love PEMF therapy and use the <a href=\"https:\/\/tidd.ly\/3GD8smT\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">HigherDOSE GO Mat regularly<\/a> &#8211; it\u2019s part of my morning routine. Use it consistently and combine it with other healing tools like red light therapy, grounding, or journaling. Real energy starts with foundations: sleep, blood sugar balance, and hydration.<\/p>\n<h3>5. Blue Light Glasses&#8230; All Day Long<\/h3>\n<p>Blue light blockers at night are super helpful. But wearing orange glasses all day? Not helpful. Your body needs blue light in the morning and early afternoon to support energy, alertness, and circadian rhythm regulation.<\/p>\n<p>Try this instead:<\/p>\n<p>Expose your eyes (no glasses or contacts) to natural light within 30 minutes of waking. Even 5\u201310 minutes outside helps set your circadian rhythm, support cortisol balance, and improve your sleep later that night.
