Not only did the max one-rep pull give the 40-year-old Heinla the<strong> win in the 2022 WDC<\/strong> \u2014 which was a part of the overall <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/2022-giants-live-world-open-results\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"131217\">Giants Live World Open<\/a> \u2014 it&#8217;s a <strong>new Master&#8217;s World Record by 39.6 kilograms (87.4 pounds)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Mikhail Shivlyakov held the previous record mark thanks to a deadlift of 436 kilograms (962 pounds) from the 2020 World\u2019s Ultimate Strongman (WUS) \u201cFeats of Strength\u201d series.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" style=\"background: #FFF; Five athletes \u2014 Heinla, Graham Hicks, <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/mitchell-hooper-2000-pound-leg-press\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"130717\">Mitchell Hooper<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/ivan-makarov-deadlift-1036-pounds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"130718\">Ivan Makarov<\/a>, and Pavlo Nakonechnyy \u2014 attempted at least 453.6 kilograms (1,000 pounds).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, Heinla was the <strong>only competitor able to lock out a rep of 1,000 pounds or more successfully<\/strong>, and he took home the victory as a result. Heinla and former <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/tom-stoltman-wins-2022-worlds-strongest-man\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"130719\">World&#8217;s Strongest Man<\/a> (WSM) champions Hafthor <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/strongman-legend-hafthor-bjornsson-loses-13-more-pounds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"130720\">Bj\u00f6rnsson<\/a> (2018) and <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/eddie-hall-robert-oberst-captains-giants-live-worlds-strongest-nation-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"130721\">Eddie Hall<\/a> (2017) remain the only strongmen to have ever deadlifted that much weight from the floor.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, none of the athletes could deadlift 505 kilograms (1,113 pounds) during the contest. The Giants Live organization would have rewarded the strongman who achieved such a feat with a $55,000 prize. Bj\u00f6rnsson still owns the heaviest strongman deadlift of all-time at 501 kilograms (1,104.5 pounds). Then, in early July, Heinla first teased a <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/strongman-rauno-heinla-deadlifts-992-pounds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"130730\">new Master&#8217;s World Record<\/a> with a pull of 450 kilograms (992 pounds) \u2014 which was 30 pounds more than the past top mark.
