The mark extends Browner&#8217;s own World Record in the 110-kilogram division <strong>by 14.4 kilograms (31.9 pounds)<\/strong>. He is the second-ever men&#8217;s athlete to deadlift at least 1,000 pounds in a full raw powerlifting meet, after Danny Grigsby, who <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/powerlifter-danny-grigsby-deadlifts-1025-pounds-raw\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"144099\">notched the feat in late March 2022<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By the end of the competition, in a first-place performance, Browner&#8217;s staggering pull helped him set <strong>an all-time raw World Record total of 1,052.5 kilograms (2,320.45 pounds) <\/strong>in the 110-kilogram class. He surpassed Derek Thistlethwaite, who initially leaped over Browner for the record with a 1,002.4-kilogram (2,210.1-pound) total from the 2022 World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/tamara-walcott-two-world-records-2022-wrpf-american-pro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"144100\">American Pro<\/a>. Browner used a <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/jamal-browner-953-pound-conventional-deadlift\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"144101\">sumo stance<\/a> and wore just a <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/5-mistakes-you-might-be-making-with-your-weightlifting-belt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"143997\">lifting belt<\/a> to help him with his deadlift accomplishment. The powerlifter has captured pulls of at least 1,000 pounds in past <a href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/powerbuilding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-lasso-id=\"144104\">training<\/a> sessions, but he never managed the achievement in an official competitive capacity. I&#8217;m happy. I still want more, but I&#8217;m happy. I&#8217;m content.
