Every preparative decision with the competition approaching becomes increasingly important for the athletes seeking a stellar result. <\/p>\n<p>One of the more notable competitors at bodybuilding&#8217;s flagship event is reigning three-time Classic Physique Olympia champion <a data-lasso-id=\"172213\" href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/chris-bumstead-leg-day-2022-mr-olympia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chris Bumstead<\/a> (2019-2021). The champion bodybuilder is in the mix for a legendary &#8220;four-peat&#8221; title and is pulling out all of the stops in the kitchen. <\/p>\n<p>Already well past his <a data-lasso-id=\"172214\" href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/bodybuilder-chris-bumstead-2022-bulking-diet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bulking phase<\/a>, Bumstead posted a Dec. 4, 2022, video to his YouTube channel detailing a &#8220;shredding&#8221; full day of eating as the 2022 Olympia nears. Bumstead mutually ended his partnership with former coach\/fellow active bodybuilder <a data-lasso-id=\"172220\" href=\"https:\/\/breakingmuscle.com\/2022-vancouver-pro-results\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Iain Valliere<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Below is an overview of the shredding diet Bumstead follows to defend his Classic Physique title. All numerical values below are approximations from Bumstead&#8217;s fitness application. He did not provide individual values for each meal. <\/p>\n<h3 id=\"meal-1\">Meal 1<\/h3>\n<p>Bumstead began his day by consuming a mix of oats and protein powder with some eggs on the side. His drink contains glutamine, psyllium husk, and Betaine. The glutamine and psyllium husk is supposed to aid digestion, while the Betaine&#8217;s purpose is anti-inflammation. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are the contents of Bumstead&#8217;s first meal:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oats with water (80 grams) <\/li>\n<li>Two scoops of protein powder<\/li>\n<li>One whole egg<\/li>\n<li>Egg white (250 grams)<\/li>\n<li>Teaspoon salt (2\/8)<\/li>\n<li>Drink with glutamine, psyllium husk, and Betaine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"meal-2\">Meal 2<\/h3>\n<p>Bumstead&#8217;s second meal consisted of rice and Atlantic cod.
